The first JustStories Conference exploring ethnic identity
and race relations was held in mid-May, 2003.

It was held at the Divine Word International Conference Center, Techny, IL

The Conference was a great success, with participants enjoying three days of stories and interactive workshops that celebrated diversity and posed painful 'race-relations' questions in creative and innovative ways.

The professionals storytellers who led this conference were...

Antonio Sacre

Susan O'Halloran

Charlotte Blake Alston

Syd Lieberman

Eth-Noh-Tec

Linda Gorham

"Wonderful"

"I laughed; I wept; I learned! "

"Everyone would benefit from hearing these stories and learning to tell our stories."

It is good for my soul to hear stories from other 'hyphenated' Americans."

"I witnessed the fullness of great storytellers."

"What an incredible undertaking this has been."

"JustStories has a focus that brings creative artistry to issues vital in our shrinking world."

"Storytelling holds the mystery of life together and offers hope to the hearer and the teller. I use storytelling to open me up and others to hear God's Word from a different perspective, a different viewpoint."

"It is good to celebrate our differences."

"Challenged my thinking."
